Data Attribution

All data on the Energy Labs North platform is sourced from Canadian government open data or publicly licensed sources. We don't use proprietary or personally-identifiable data about the people who live in the locations you search. Below are the organizations and licences that underpin every report on the platform.

Statistics Canada

Demographics, population estimates, economic data, crime statistics, housing and commuting patterns, infrastructure and amenity access measures, and related census and survey data.

Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC)
CMHC Open Data Licence
Housing market data, rental market surveys, housing starts and completions, and mortgage and credit trend data.
Natural Resources Canada (NRCan)

Seismic hazard data, flood hazard mapping, terrain and elevation data, and land cover classifications.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC)

Historical climate normals, real-time air quality data, industrial pollutant release data, water quality monitoring, and protected and conserved area boundaries.

Radon survey data (forward sortation area level aggregates) used to assess indoor radon risk by region.

Real-time earthquake event data used to display recent seismic activity near a location. Seismic site hazard scoring uses Natural Resources Canada data.
